This topic of a praying community reminds of the old slogan “The family that prays together stays together.” If this is true for families, it has to be true for the community of faith!! This leads back to the unity that we talked about Tuesday…we are connected or unified because we are all becoming one with God through our prayers. As each one of us draws closer to God through prayer, we can’t help but draw closer to each other.
I think that Romans 15:5-7 (New International Version)supports this…
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
